This hat came from the estate of Thomas Bassett Macaulay

It has a pocket built into the interior at the right side and an unusual large pocket with an attached strap at the lower left interior (see last photo) - this must have some specific purpose

minor wear is to the bottom edge of the grosgrain band at the front

I believe that it dates to the 1940s. The skull cap is made of millinery buckram and is loaded with silk flowers, mostly roses, of all types. The flowers are in tones of red, pink and white with some greenery. It has a net face veil. It should fit a range of sizes, there are two small combs presently affixed to the interior of the cap, but it may be helpful to be secured to
